MIL-C-17
Low Smoke - Zero Halogen Coaxial Cables for Navy Shipboard
Low Smoke – Zero Halogen coaxial
cables per MIL-C-17 Slant Sheets 181,
183, and 184 were developed due to
concerns about the fire hazards of the
insulation and jacketing materials used
in commercial applications. These
coaxial cables meet the U.S. Navy
requirements for smoke index, acid
gas generation, halogen content, and
toxicity index. These coaxial cables are
manufactured with an irradiation
cross-linked modified low smoke
polyolefin jacket. They offer superior
performance in abrasion, oil, and
flame resistance, while maintaining the
electrical requirements of MIL-C-17.
In addition to these standard designs, Rockbestos-Surprenant
Cable Corporation can manufacture custom coaxial cables
upon request.
